Tattoos are almost permanent marks on the human body and therefore the mass acceptance always remained an elusive concept. A person with tattoos would not enjoy higher status in the society. But things are revolving fast and the wheel of time has brought in tattoos in prominence and acceptance at least among the stars and celebrities across the globe.

Having a tattoo on body still differentiate a person from the rest ones around but the  level of general acceptance is now increasing exponentially. “It has become a “don’t ask, don’t tell” type of policy meaning that if you have tattoos, it’s okay as long as they are not visible (mainly pertaining to the workplace). It is because mainstream society has begun to accept it that the fad of tattooing has become rampant”.

A tattoo should be considered as an  artful form of self-expression. However, just getting a tattoo for the sake of getting a tattoo is absurd.

A tattoo is personal and will always be there; to get one for fashion could be a cause but again that may or may not sustain during the time. Tattoos should always be a form of self-expression.

The tattoos can’t be bigger than palm-size and for the diehard fans it is a dream-deal . Team tattoos are a way to prove the diehard fan’s dedication.

From Castro Valley, California,Kurt Hanson has a 49ers tattoo on his left arm. ” I got this tattoo about four years ago, much to the chagrin of wife. It just shows that my love of the Niners is more than skin-deep,” said Hanson.

Diego Hernandez lives in San Rafael, California, described his tattoo as a “49ers bat signal above the city” with a view of the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco skyline. “Which tattoo to get was a big choice, but I’m glad I got one which displayed both the city and the 49ers logo,” Hernandez said.

Rory Nelson in Pittsburg, California has followed the Niners religiously since the age of 10 and his 49ers tattoo is on forearm with red text emerging beneath sinew and muscle. “I’ve got red and gold running through my veins, so getting a tattoo proving it was the next logical step. I’m probably gonna get another one on my other arm after we take down the Ravens.”

A 49ers diehard fan in San Francisco, Josh Campos said, “a Kaepernick tattoo would be pretty sweet if he brings home the title.” Michael Scarsella, from the Bay Area waited for his tattoo until he found his real team.

Tattoos are a lifelong commitment, but for die-hard fans, they’re always the right decision.

Ed’s of tattoos include a copy of French artist Matisse’s sketch of a mother holding a baby on his forearm.

The Grammy nominated musician already has a phoenix tattoo on his arm. Very recently he added another King Arthur tattoo to his hand, etched on by tattooist Kevin Paul.

The King Arthur piece of tattoo however irked his mother and now Ed says he won’t go for any more tattoos on his hand.

“Ed’s keeping his new tattoos under wraps and hasn’t really been showing them off as they’re quite dramatic,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

“He fell in love with the Matisse image because he found it comforting, and he loves the myth of the phoenix rising from the flames as it gives him hope when he looks at it.”

Ed is now busy preparing for a performance with Elton John at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 10.

“I can’t wait to kind of just be involved in the whole thing. Just to be going is an honor, but to be nominated and performing is nuts,” Ed said to MTV News about his excitement on this forthcoming event.

The festival began in the year 2010 with 100 enthusiasts.

Almost 180 of the tattooists from around the globe would be recording their presence with a huge cross-section of styles and cultures. There will be people from Poland, Japan, Italy, the United States.

Mr Brent Taylor, 34, came up with the idea for the festival after talking to several of his tattooist friends who realized there was nothing major like it in New Zealand.

“It was just to do something fun and now it’s turned into this huge, crazy thing,” he said.

“A lot of the artists were saying it was the best festival in Australasia, and some are saying it’s the best in the world. It’s just blown us away. Nothing negative was said by the artists or the public after the last one.”

More than 7000 people attended the event in 2010 and Mr Taylor hoped to reach 10,000 at this year’s festival.

Mr Taylor, a New Plymouth man who is Oni Events director, said they had attracted the attention of Dan Smith, who starred on hit TV Show LA Ink, and Nikole Lowe from London Ink, who would demonstrate their skills over the two days.

New Zealand band The Bleeders will also play their first show in four years, and burlesque dancer Venus Star is set to put on an extreme show.

“It’s about breaking down those stereotypes that are associated with tattooists, getting rid of that gang affiliation and all of that. These people are artists and they’re business people and they love what they do”, says Mr. Taylor.

The festival is on at the TSB Stadium from November 24 till 25, with tickets $20 and kids under 14 free.

Kailyn  went on tweet a picture of her at the tattoo parlor getting work done. For one, Teem Mom star Kailyn Lowry is extending her massive back tattoo to include more branches around the sides of her back.

The documentary film chronicles filmmaker Suzanne Khardalian’s quest to expose the extreme abuse suffered by her grandmother, a survivor of the Armenian Genocide. “Grandma was abducted and held in slavery for many years somewhere in Turkey. She was also forcibly marked, – tattooed – as property, the same way you mark cattle. I share the shame, the guilt and anger that infected my grandma’s life”, states Khardalian. Grandma’s Tattoos sheds light on the story of thousands of forgotten female survivors of the Armenian Genocide, many of them children and teenagers, who were raped, abducted, and forced into prostitution.

The patent also includes a temporary, stick-on tattoo option for those who aren’t too sure about the idea.

That would include Megan Hoogland, a nationally known tattoo artist who runs Mecca Tattoo in Mankato, Minn.

“Most inks have a bit of metal in them anyway, to get the colour, so it might not be dangerous,” she said. “But it seems a little too Big Brother-ish for me. We keep falling for this kind of thing, with Facebook, Google maps and cameras everywhere.” The biggest downside of all? “You can’t turn off a tattoo.”

Gilbert’s debut album, which he dropped in 2009, was called ‘Modern Day Prodigal Son’ and featured the title track ‘A Modern Day Prodigal Son’ about a wayward man reading the story of the prodigal son in the Bible and coming back.
