Auckland is again hosting with tattoo artists from all around Aotearoa,the Pacific and elsewhere in the world .It is time to start planning your nexttattoo by an artist you may not normally see in Auckland or New Zealand. The Auckland International Tattoo Convention will have a new venue this year at Pavillion-3, A.S.B Showgrounds Greenlane, Auckland.The tattoo show and convention will also offer fantastic environment with a great showcase of all the latest and greatest Ta MokoTatau and Tattoo artists.With the new Venue there would also be room for a stage where live and D.J music will be performed, Funny things for the kids and a fantastic ‘new style’ Tattoo Art Competition for the public to showcase their latest artworks. From the Cafe/Bar you will be able to inhale the atmosphere of the whole event. This is a Whanau/family event, supported by some
great sponsors and a talented community of Artists here in Auckland.The Auckland International Tattoo Convention’s scheduled venue is at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane on Saturday and Sunday from 9am. Tickets are $20 for one day or $30 for both and are available at the door. Children under 12 are free.

She further adds,” the event is all about honouring the diversity of the tattoo industry”.Carl Cocker a Papatoetoe-based tattoo artist will be opening his own tattoo shop specialising in traditional Polynesian tattooing and winning awards in Tahiti and Australia. He’s hoping to continue that success at this weekend’s Auckland International Tattoo Convention and he will enter many competition categories. His designs are inspired by Tongan tapa cloth patterns. The art of traditional Polynesian tattooing, known as tatau, is growing in popularity after resurgence in the past
decade, he says. The 30-year-old mainly tattooed Western designs in Malaysia, before developing his own Polynesian style after returning to New Zealand.About 60 of the world’s biggest names in tattoo art and performance will be at the event including the world’s most tattooed man, Lucky Diamond Rich.
